Workout Routine

Ebony, on November 1, 2022 at 2:35 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 20

I would have never thought in a millions years I would be thinking about losing weight for my wedding, but here I am hahaha!!

Anyways, I just wanted to see the workout routines you all used for your wedding Smiley laugh I'm not trying to lose to much weight just about 10 pounds..

And did the routine actually work and how long did you stick to it? I don't want to do anything to hard because I am a beginner (since I don't work out at all) and I want it to be at home routines; I cant really afford a gym membership.

Thanks in advance! Smiley heart

I did a 30 day workout challenge for 2 months. It helped, I just had to stay consistent. There were a day here and there I might skip but I made sure to make up for it.

Pop Sugar has a fitness app with a bunch of different workouts that you can filter by length, type, equipment needed, etc. I started using it after I got on a consistent online workout schedule during Covid and then my gym went back to in person classes before I was ready to return, so I needed a replacement. I was pleased when the Pop Sugar workouts used most of the same workouts that my gym did (which was successful but I fell off the wagon after about a year lol). The best part is it’s FREE!

There is also a free app called "FitOn" and that has guided workouts.

You could also try to do intermittent fasting and try to hit 10k steps every day if a workout isn't your jam.
I've lost about 60 pounds in the last 16 months, and went from pants size 18/20 to a 12. I started using noom, then did intermittent fasting and increased my steps which helped a ton. I now have a gym membership. Lol
Goodluck! And Remember to stay healthy.

Mix cardio and weight training 4-5 times a week.

But an important component of that is reasonable portion control. You need both to lose weight. Try tracking your calories using MyFitnessPal. Hot tip: Focus on increasing your protein intact so that you feel fuller for longer

Cardio can mean 30 minutes of walking, if that raises your heart rate, and weight training can be calibrated to your experience level. Peloton (a basic membership costs $13 a month) has a great video library of strength and cardio routines -- it's not just cycling -- that you can search by fitness level. If you're a novice, that can help you learn the types of exercises you might want to do. Another benefit: The instructors in the videos give pointers on form, which you probably won't get from reading an article.

Also, if you're going from completely sedentary to three times a week, that's still an achievement.

All that said, you probably still need to track your calorie intact to see results. People who go from not exercising to exercising tend to eat more to make up for the calories they lost. Some people actually gain weight when they start a routine.

Oh wow that sounds crazy :gaining more weight when they start exercising 😂I hope that don’t happen to me. I use to be VERY active but once I started going through depression a few years ago things haven’t been the same. So I definitely want to start working out a little more not just for the wedding but because I’m finally mentally healthy to do so. But thank you again ❤️

Don't ignore your food choices. Make healthy ones and add in some light weights to your workouts. You don't want to lose muscle mass.

While exercise is hugely important for health related reasons, it is actually a largely ineffective weight loss tool in and of itself. Unless you are talking about a lot more exercise than the average person would typically imagine or consider, it is unlikely to produce the kind of results you hope for in this time frame or at all. In general about 20% or less of weight loss is due to exercise vs. food choices and portion sizes. I agree with PP that strength training is good to add to the routine.
