Words or instrumental????

sharay, on June 25, 2017 at 9:05 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 34

Hey all. This maybe a stupid question, but the song you are walking down the aisle to, are you doing just the instrumental or with the words? Also are you using a different song for the bridal party??? Thanks

    Nice! I'm over here racking my brain on what's best. I had wanted it to be a surprise too, but figured we would have to play it for the rehearsal to practice. Any around that?

    We used an instrumental version for the song I walked down the aisle to, but we used the original songs with words for the seating of the parents and grandparents, the WP processional, and the recessional.

    You can find a lot of instrumental songs on you tube. The piano guys are great. This is ours https://youtu.be/RZQNe8IMLtQ

    I used all instrumental.

    We did Canon in D for the bridesmaids and I walked in to All of Me by Manchester String Quartet.

    Instrumental for sure. Listen to Vitamin String Quartet for inspiration, they do orchestral covers of popular songs

    We're having a string quartet. No clue yet what we'll pick, but it will be something very traditional. I like a couple of pieces, just haven't decided yet!

    Definitely a different song for bp, and I'm walking in with the vocal version of the song I picked

    The BP and I are walking down to "The Book of Love" by Peter Gabriel and we're using the version with words. I love the song and while beautiful with only I instruments half of the magic is worth the lyrics.

    I haven't picked my music yet (still pretty far from my wedding date), but there definitely won't be words to the music. I think that would be distracting.

    @OP

    If you are being married in a church, make sure to check the rules. My church does not allow pop music to be played. I am not sure they allow recorded music at all, unless it were classical.

    An instrumental version of the song you would want would be much more wedding appropriate.

    I'm having musicians(piano and ?) and it will be only instrumental. I'm thinking about doing: "All You Need is Love" by the Beatles or "Wouldn't it be Nice" by Beach Boys for the bridesmaids, flower girls, ring bearers. For my FH, our dog, groomsmen, and the parents: "You're My Best Friend" by Queen (because our dog is his best friend). For me, I'm thinking "Flightless Bird" by Iron and Wine. For our recessional, "It's Friday We're In Love" by the Cure since our wedding is on a Friday and we both love the Cure.

    Instrumental.

    Doing something classical and traditional for my FH and parents and Flowergirl (no BP) and switching to instrumental version of The Final Countdown for the bridal march.
