Wording suggestions!

Hi!

I'm in New York and supposed to get married in late September. We haven't postponed yet, and still hoping for the best. We are planning to make the decision at the end of June. For now, we will be sending out our Save the Dates this month.

I'm going to add another card along with the Save the Dates, telling the guests that we are monitoring the situation and will contact everybody if we decide to postpone. I have the message ready, but the problem is, I can't decide what to put for the main title for the card!

All I can think of is "FYI", but do you think that is too less serious and informal? I would love it if anybody could give any recommendations what to use for the title.

Oh by the way, I'm using a lot of calligraphy and the overall wedding invites are classic, romantic, elegant themed.

Thank you!

I would begin with “For your consideration” or “ In light of recent events”, “

My cousin had to postpone their wedding and sent out new save the dates that said “Love is infectious, but so is the corona virus”. I thought it was super cute.

I think the way you are informing your guest is perfect

    Hi Jenny,

I love the idea of keeping your guests in the loop. However, if I were in your position, I think I would leave a note at the top of your wedding website with COVID-19 updates. I just fear that if you send the save-the-date with a note saying this event may or may not happen, it can be confusing.

So, in my opinion, I say send your save-the-date as planned and than update your wedding website with text stating that you are monitoring the situation and your guests can keep an eye on your website for further updates, etc.

This certainly doesn't have to be anything too formal. Your guests will understand - especially with everything going on.

I'm sending you all my love and wishing you the best of luck in your journey!

    Smiley heart
