Wording for rsvp follow up

Monica, on March 10, 2020 at 1:54 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 4 15
Our rsvp deadline is Saturday. Im so ready to start harassing (just kidding) ppl to ask them if they are coming or not. Im really anxious about our guest count because our count went up by A Lot. So far we have 120+ ppl with no response. We shall see how many more rsvps we get before Saturday.

I will start sending out messages on Sunday and the beginning of next week.
I was wondering how to word it when I message everyone in a way that it doesn’t seem like im asking them to say yes. Some family lives out of state and some live fairly local.

“Hi there! Our RSVP deadline was ___ and we noticed we haven’t received yours yet. We have to turn in our final headcount soon, so if we don’t hear from you by ___ we’ll assume you can’t make it. Hope to see you soon!”

Thanks. Should I mention coronavirus for out of state guests. One of my out of state groups declined because of it.

I just did this last night (our deadline):

    "Hi (Name),

Just a reminder that today is the last day to RSVP for our wedding! You can RSVP here: (I gave them our wedding website URL) Or you can respond with your RSVP or regrets on this message. We do need to have a firm answer by tomorrow, as the numbers are due to the caterer tomorrow evening!

    Thanks!"

Now, I did a tiny little fib in the numbers being "tomorrow", they are not. But once the 30 people I had to track down and message read that, 20 of them gave their responses in less than 2 hours, so I can definitively say it works haha!

I would wait a few days after the deadline to begin asking people... Maybe until Thursday.

    You could say something like

"Hey there! Hopefully you received the invitation for our wedding. I'm reaching out to the guests I haven't received RSVP's for, as a friendly reminder to send them back ASAP! We're looking forward to celebrating the big day with you.

Lol I might just do the same fib. I need maximum amount of time to order & allow shipping time for more chargers, plates, silverware, linens, champagne flutes (All of these things were already purchased but our guest count went up) in addition to chair rental count & caterer count.

I might do Sunday or Monday. Thursday is kind of too late in case ppl take a few days to respond because its really close to when the actual caterer headcount is due.

I would say " Hello, I hope you are doing well and received you invitation to my wedding on XX/XX/XXXX. The deadline to RSVP was XX/XX/XXXX. Please let me know if you will be attending or not by XX/XX/XXXX because our final head count is due. If you don't RSVP by XX/XX/XXXX please bring a chair and a sandwich. We are very excited to celebrate with everyone.

We were so irritated because the people that didn’t RSVP were family members. We sent out passive aggressive texts like “hey, did you get the invitation to our wedding?? We hadn’t heard from you and thought it might have gotten lost in the mail” lol

Hi XXX, We noticed that we have not received your RSVP for our wedding. We need to let our vendors know our final headcounts by x date so if you could please let me know by x date or we will have to count you as a no and we hope that we will be able to celebrate with you sometime after.
