Wood Flowers/paper Flowers?

Staci, on May 22, 2018 at 12:35 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 7
Hi Ladies!

We're down to 129 days! 😍

Has anyone used wood flowers or paper flowers in place of the real deal? Was thinking on doing wood/paper to save the expense from real flowers, but was wondering if it's worth it. Our table decorations may not have any floral element, so I'm really just looking at bouquets, corsages, etc. Any advise is appreciated!

Thanks ladies!

I used solawood flowers from solawoodflowers.com to make all my bouquets and centerpieces. I love them. They came raw and you can dye them whatever colors you want.

I love the way the Sola flowers look! Was it difficult to dye and put together?

It wasn't difficult at all. You use any acrylic paint that they sell at walmart or a craft store (the paint you can buy with the flowers is overpriced for the amount you receive) and add water a little at a time to get the color/darkness/lightness you want. Then you dip the flowers in the water/paint mixture for about 3 to 5 seconds and then flip it upside down on a rack to dry. You can redip them if you need to. There are lots of tutorials out there for it.

Thank you!! I've been intimidated to try it, since I'm not super crafty, but I might give it a shot!

They have a tutorial on their website that you can watch. Maybe start with the bridal bouquet kit and that way you have everything you need in one box and it won't be much of a guessing game of how many flowers. I you can order that one with a choice of 2 or 3 dye colors and they will come pre-dyed. I did this for my first bouquet because although I am super crafty I was pretty intimidated too. I picked my dye colors and then put a left a note when i checked out to leave some of them raw. It definitely helped me think about how many I flowers I needed and material I needed for the next 6 I had to build.
