Winter engagement locations in CT?

Laura, on December 4, 2016 at 8:03 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 14

Does anyone have an ideas for a January engagement session in CT? Preferable near the Hartford area? Indoor or outdoors, either is fine! Thanks!

Check out Wickham Park in Manchester. It's beautiful--lots of different gardens and great places for pictures, including a spot where you can get a view of the Hartford skyline in the background. (I had my ceremony there so I'm a bit biased. Smiley smile)

Horsebarn Hill at UConn is amazing (proud alumni!)

Would you consider doing any night time photos at Hubbard Park in Meriden in front of all of the Christmas lights? That may be cute.

You could always try Mount Southington Ski Area for snow shots.

What town do you live in? The town greens in a lot of Hartford area towns are gorgeous too

I'm in this area, too! There are several lakes you could go to that are pretty, especially when they get all snowed up and ice covered. Also, Wickham Park is gorgeous!

Ooh I second Gillette Castle. It's definitely worth the drive.

My only other suggestion would be, if you are literary, seeing about Mark Twain's house, the grounds and house are really pleasant!

I thought of another! Although it's a little farther from Hartford, but the Connecticut Trolley Museum is very beautiful. The lights are up now and it's just so sweet looking!

Wow thank you guys! My fiance is a Uconn alum himself, and I grew up in Manchester, so Wickham is a great idea! We got engaged at the West Hartford Reservoir, so considered there as well. I will check out these other spots as well. Thanks!

We just did ours in Essex, and it's beautiful there. One photographer I interviewed had suggested Elizabeth park in Hartford-she had done quite a few EPics there in the winter and they looked great!

We did ours at the West Hartford Reservoir. It was actually warmer than usual, so they look like fall pictures, but we went right before Christmas.

I second the Bushnell Park Carousel. They just went through a huge restoration project and it's beautiful!
