Wines?

Katie, on October 13, 2019 at 1:56 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 9
I was thinking of pinot grigio for white and a red blend not sure what brands yet plus sutterhomes white zinfandel. Any suggestions for red and white wines under $10?

As a pro bartender, under $10 per bottle is tough. I would go with the Barefoot brand. They do less expensive wine really well. Their Sparkling Moscato and Sparkling Pink Moscato are excellent alternatives to champagne.

I was going to suggest the Barefoot brands as well. Check with your local wine store. If you buy it by the case, ours gives you a bit of a break. Ended up being about $14 per bottle that way.

You'd be surprised how good local brands could be. If you can do a tasting at their wineries, I highly recommend doing that. Boordy Vineyards, St. Micheals, and Hatteras are all favorites in the Mid-Atlantic area.

We bought a little over a case of 19 Crimes Malbec and it was a huge hit! The Santiago Station Savignon Blanc (drier) and Fetzer Gewurztraminer (sweeter) also went over well. All for under $10 per bottle.

Apothic and Menage Trois are super good red blends that are usually anwyhere from 7.99 to 12.99 depending on where you buy.

Shiraz is nice for a Red option and also you might want to consider a Riesling as well.
