Wine/beer/signature Cocktails Cost

Matty, on May 9, 2018 at 9:02 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 7
Hi all, I’m reworking my budget today and trying to get a better idea on how much we’re going to have to spend on alcohol. We’re planning on 100 guests, and just having wine, beer and cider, and two signature cocktails. How much have you budgeted/spent on alcohol (if you’ve provided your own)?

We have a full bar at $3000 that we are providing on our own with too shelf booze (patron, grey goose etc). I would say atleast $2k for 100 guests to be safe.

I will be having around 170 guests that are of legal drinking age and I have $5k in my budget for alcohol (I am really hoping that is the maximum though)! This is for kegs of beer, 4 wine selections and full bar.

Not for alcohol pricing, but I've heard to plan on 1 drink per person per hour of the event. So that might be helpful if you are getting kegs or bottles of wine. Some other options might be a mixed drink, like Sangria, because you could add in fruit juice to cut down on liquor cost?

I just posted this on another thread about this but we did modified open bar and this is what we did

This is what we bought, I can't remember the exact price but I think it was about $300 for booze and about $150 for wine.

    2 x 1.75 L Summuns Vodka (we returned 1)

2x 1.75 L 1800 Tequila (had 1.25 bottles left, but we kept the unopened bottle)

    2x 1.75 L Bacardi Rum (we returned 1)

    1 x 1.75L Jack Daniels

    1 x 1.75L Captain Morgan

    1 x 750mL Rumchata & Fireball (For a signature drink..that was all gone)

36 Bottles of Miller Light (24 left, apparently no one likes miller light)

36 Bottles of Stella (Ran out)

36 Bottles Bud light (had about 5 left)

And 4 Large Bottles of Pinot Grigio (had 2 unopened left), 4 large of Pinio Nior (1 Left) and 2 Bottles of Chardonay, 2 Bottles of Sauvignon Blanc, and 2 bottles I forgot and we had a ton of wine left over.

You can go to total wines website and add things that you'd want to your cart and then do the math and see if it would be worth it, ours broke down to about $7PP but bartender and mixers was +$250. We had to drop off the booze the night before but it wasn't a big deal.

If you go to Total Wine they can help break down the suggested quantities for you!
