Wine tumblers for bridesmaids. Must or waste?

Aurora, on October 23, 2019 at 5:44 AM Posted in Planning 0 14
I already have bags with names, robes, flip flops and earrings for bridesmaids. Trying to decide if I want to get these too. I feel like they would be good for morning mimosas while getting ready and look good in the "getting ready" pictures.

Thoughts?

We gave the bridesmaids & groomswoman wine glasses with their names engraved in them and the groomsmen and bridesman mugs that looked like baseball bats with names engraved. They used them for the reception.

Waste. You can get a box of glasses and diy names in them.

I think they are cute, but, honestly, except for a couple of quick pictures while getting ready, they are just going to be something else for your bridal party members to keep track of. Once they've had beverages in them, especially mimosas, they are going to need to be washed out between uses (sticky OJ, ick!) before they can be used again, so it's not likely they'll just keep using them all day. Like pp said, if you really want personalized glasses as a photo prop, you can get much cheaper ones that if someone leaves them behind it won't be a big deal.

My husband surprised me with these for my bachelorette party. One for each girl. They were great because it was safe to have by the pool.

For the day of we just did real glasses because it looks better in photos.

I personally like wine tumblers, we take them camping & they are easy to use there. We just used plastic champagne glasses for ours, because the girls had water & coffee all morning before mimosas even started.

I don’t think they’re necessary as a prop but they do seem like a fun gift!

I bought a box of champagne glasses from AtHome and ordered vinyl name decals off etsy. I imagine it would be much cheaper.

It depends on your crowd. Do you think any of them would actually use them after the wedding? Personally, I know I wouldn't. However, others would.

We bought the tumblers from a site and then used alcohol ink to give them a wood look, and used vinyl for the names. It took time, but it was $4 a cup roughly

If you're sure your BMs will reuse them after, I say go for it!

If I received this as a gift at any event/time I would use this throughiut my life all day long! I love these but I do agree that you can DIY them for putting their names on them for cheaper but if you don't want them engraved or you aren't crafty then you could just buy them but they definately aren't a must.
