wine ceremony- what wines?

Amanda, on September 8, 2011 at 1:04 PM Posted in Planning 0 4

We want to do a wine blending ceremony- however mixing two wines sounds like it will taste horrible and I don't want a horrible expression on my face haha! Has anyone done this ceremony? what wines did u use? I was thinking maybe more of a white wine and a rose to mix instead of red and white - maybe it wouldnt taste as bad?

any suggestions?

A little different would be cherry wine and cherry juice (which you can get in a wine bottle). It is really good but if you are looking for two wines to mix I would mix two of similar taste.

I have never heard of this (and I am in the wine business LOL). The best "blending" would be Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. These are often blended together in the real world.

I would not blend a white wine and a rose'. You will hate it. I do not know what you are thinking about, as a rose'.

I also had this question, being a bit of a wine snob, myself. A red and a white do not a rose make! (Even though that is what many of the sites that describe this wine ceremony say!) I like the Cab/Merlot idea. I have also done a wine blending class where we experimented with other varietals. I think I just came up with a good idea for us: my fiance and I had our first date at a wine bar. He had a merlot and I had a malbec. I'm thinking we will try blending these - probably experiment a bit ahead of time. Can never have too much wine!
