My FH and I are using Total Wine. They give discounts if you buy in bulk. My FSIL (my FH's sister) got married on November 2nd and used them. She got everything there; wine, beer and liquor. She got a great deal and was able to return any unopened bottles after the wedding! That's why we chose to go with them! Smiley smile

When it comes to how much to buy, this is what I am planning on using before we go and purchase everyting

I agree with Kaysey! If there's a Total Wine near you that's probably the best place you can go. They do free wedding consultations to help you figure out how much alcohol you need. If you don't have a Total Wine, I've heard of some people getting their wine at Trader Joes or Costco (depending on your state).

My fiance and I are also trying to figure out how much wine to buy. It's not an easy process because you don't want to run out! It may be helpful to first set a max budget for alcohol and then go from there!

It's going to depend on what type of drinkers your guests are (light, medium heavy). We had 100 guests and did an open beer and wine bar. We had 9 cases of beer (24 beers to a case) and 6.5 cases of wine (12 bottles of wine to a case).

We bought our wine from a local winery - we got a discount based on how many cases and we got to serve our guests something we actually liked and got to support a local business! And we gave left over bottles as thank you gifts to a few people. We were able to have a seasonal wine (cranberry apple!) and a few others that we liked and then we just bought beer by the case from a distributor.

In hindsight, we would have bought more wine but we went with our bartenders recommendation instead - you know your crowd better than they do!
