Will this photograph too light?

ArtsyAlicia, on July 3, 2017 at 6:24 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 27

I ordered a sample dress from azazie in the color I wanted, dusty sage. My girls are choosing their own style but I just wanted to see a full sample dress in my color. I love the shade in person but am worried it will photograph too light and seem dull next to my dress. My dress is light champagne and ivory lace. My back up color is dusty blue. We are going for a woodland, soft romantic vibe. Opinions please?!

These are from their website and the color does appear dark. The above photo was taken in my house with artificial light

I wore a sage BM dress in my friend's wedding. They photographed well. But I can't lie, I hated that damn dress. I felt like a sunbleached lawn chair.

I absolutely love that color! Your photographer should know where to photograph so it doesn't appear too light or washed out so you should be good. Both would look absolutely amazing though! What are the guys wearing?

@OP definitely don't want to dissuade you from the sage, it was just a nightmare with my pale skintone lol. The blue is really pretty! I love the new trend of dusty colors. They're so much softer and more romantic IMO.

I love the sage, and I agree that any photographer worth their salt would make sure it doesn't bleach out. You really can't go by home lighting....

I always worry about that too. I'm very pale and it seems like every light coloris washed out. But it's a beautiful color and dress!

I really like that blue. The sage is pretty too. Maybe take a picture in different lighting to get an idea of how it will look.

Did you check out any of the photos from real weddings that Azazie has? I found those to be really helpful!

@christy yes I love the real wedding photos! The dusty colors are so new though they don't have any in the sage yet. I have a few months before we need to order but I like having it planned lol

I think the sage is pretty and your bouquet inspo is beautiful. I personally prefer the blue, but with the right lighting which your photog should ensure you have I am sure the green will look fine.

Definitely the blue. Especially after seeing the guys attire. You may just be too muted with the sage even though it is one of my favorite colors

Try looking up real wedding photos. I'm looking to order from Azazie too, the blushing pink and dusty rose colors. I ordered swatches first but the color of the gown can really be seen in professional photography and natural lighting.
