Will my dress look weird outdoors?

Leeza, on May 19, 2021 at 1:24 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11

Hi Everyone, I'm hoping you all can give me some piece in mind since I cant discuss this with fh. We were originally going to be married on January 23, 2021 but of course COVID happened and we ended up postponing the wedding to October 15, 2021. My dress was one of the first things I found, It was (and still is) EVERYTHING I wanted. Long sleeve, ballgown, satin; looking for a different gown is not an option. Well, now we are no longer getting married in the winter season and the venue has moved from an indoor ballroom to an outdoor historic home courtyard. I'm very happy with the venue move, a historical Spanish home is more our style anyway but I'm wondering if my dress will look too formal or out of place. I'm thinking I will try to dress it down by wearing my hair down in vintage waves to try and get an alternative moody vibe. I've attached some pictures of me when I found my dress and a photo of the courtyard from another wedding. What do you think? Is my dress out of place?

It depends on the weather, if you’re in a warm area it seems like it’d be very very hot.

It’ll look magical... very romantic. Just be careful with hot weather as mentioned previously.

    Wow!! That dress is gorgeous!!!

You will look stunning, no matter the venue. You absolutely glow in those pictures. I wouldn't worry about the change in setting. I think that dress will look beautiful anywhere!!

That dress is amazing and could work well in a historic courtyard for a fall wedding 😊

Such a gorgeous, romantic dress!!! Perfectly matches the atmosphere of a historic estate. You will look beautiful outdoors in that gown but make sure you have fans to circulate air and lots of water to stay hydrated! And don't forget your deodorant...

Beautiful dress! My mom’s dress was similar, long sleeves and full satin with lace overlay, VERY hot and heavy. And she got married at the end of July in Florida! She looked stunning but she did say she was miserably hot. That’s the only thing to keep in mind! Definitely beautiful though!

I agree with the weather situation. It will be perfect if you are in a cooler climate. Your dress choice will fit that mansion vibe PERFECTLY and you look AMAZING!! Great job Smiley smile

WOW July in Florida? I'm sure I can relate to the heat here in south Texas! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the slightest of cooler nights since it will be October, plus the ceremony will still be indoors so here's hoping the evening weather is kind to me Smiley smile Thank you!

Perhaps I should consider hiring someone to personally fan me! It is my wedding day after all lol!Smiley xd But I agree, I will definitely need extra deodorant and some help getting peeled out of my dress if the weather is too warm lol!
