Will bridal shops ship your dress?

I think that would depend on the individual shop. I know for sure that David's Bridal will. I think though that most would, but there may be an added cost for it. I would say the best thing to do would call and ask them. If they won't, they may have some other suggestions for you.

I’d call and ask. I got my dress at the shops Beverly Hills location and in order for them to get it to the Orange County location they actually drove it down. They didn’t want to ship it. It’s also possible if they have a location in Austin for them to have it ship there instead. But I’d call and see what they can do.

It's not a chain so I know they don't have an Austin location. In a perfect world though! I'm holding off on calling them until we have a definitive timeline so I can see what my options are from there.

I actually got my dress in Austin but live in Houston. They said they'd ship it to me for $60 but it's not that far away and I have a sister in Austin so I'll just make a weekend out of picking it up. I'll prematurely be the first to say, welcome to Texas!!! No place like it. I hope you love living here! If you're looking for a venue in that area, Dripping Springs has some gorgeous ones

Thank you!! We're SO excited! My fiance's parents moved their last year so we spent last Christmas in the Austin area and fell in love. Everyone is SO nice and it's such a calmer lifestyle compared to LA. If we hadn't already booked the majority of our vendors and sent out STDs, we'd probably have the wedding in Texas but we're too far in the planning process to start all over again.

The shop that I bought from offered to ship my dress to me, but it would cost about $75. I think it depends on each shop and whether or not they want that liability.

My shop offered to pack it for me but my mom had to pick it up and drop it off at a UPS location.

I imagine they would for an additional cost? I'd just call and ask today.

My shop shipped my dress for no additional cost from Texas to California.

Oh good!!! I completely understand that. I know you're coming from LA and have Napa nearby but if you're into wine I definitely recommend taking a weekend trip to Fredericksburg! It's the most charming small town and they have a TON of wineries (55 and counting). It's the greatest getaway

I called today and they're trying to get a status update for me despite me telling them that wasn't necessary. It sounds like they prefer to have a family member or friend pick it up and ship out but that's not going to work for us. We don't have any family in LA (hence why we're leaving) and the one person I would ask isn't always the most reliable. I'll wait to see what they say and figure it out from there.

Fingers crossed they're willing to ship it to you! Maybe they can ship it to a different salon near where you're moving?! Or maybe they can have the distributor they get it from ship directly to you?

I ended up speaking with the woman who was my consultant and she said not to worry, they'll get my dress to me one way or another. They prefer a family member or close friend ship it out but I explained to her that wasn't an option as neither of us have family in CA. I would have to pay for shipping, which I expected, but no other issues other than that.
