@Sweetbean, they were definitely trying to be funny! It's coming from a coworker with absolutely no filter so I didn't take it personally. I just thought it was an awkward thing to send to a coworker you barely know lol

Haha I actually thought it was kinda funny too! Of course a DJ does more than just plug in an iPod and of course flowers serve their purpose and a good photographer is worth the money. But it is kind of silly that we want all of it just to profess our love to someone and maybe have a religious binding. Now I had a pretty large budget wedding (thanks to family helping) and I used every penny, so I definitely don't judge people spending a lot, but I can see how it looks a little ridiculous.

Oh...and I don't think it should say why marriage is a sham...more like why a wedding is a sham. They didn't say anything about marriage in that video it was more talking about the cost of weddings being ridiculous.

HiH: The video is definitely meant to be funny. But I do feel like videos that push the idea that wedding vendors are useless are wildly incorrect and stupid (and some actually offensive to vendors trying to make a living). But I just thought it was a weird video to sent to a coworker lol Like what am I supposed to say to that email. Thanks? haha

Oh yeah that is pretty stupid to send to another coworker unless like you're good buddies, both single or something and just want to laugh. But someone you barely know, sounds like she is pretty judgmental about you having a wedding lol! Crazy person!

And yeah I think it's really sad when people think that vendors aren't useful. Like "How hard is it to just get a fancy camera and push a button every few seconds?" hahahaha oh man...if only they knew. Before DH and I started wedding photography we actually went through this whole video series (it cost us over $100 just to buy the videos) and it taught all sorts of things and we took notes and I practiced doing detail shots at home and like all sorts of things. There's a lot to it! Of course everyone on here agrees with that I'm sure...but the people that are totally oblivious drive me nuts!!
