My fiance and I are newly engaged and looking for a quaint ceremony and reception site. We are paying for the wedding completely by ourselves and are trying to stay within $13,000. However, everywhere I look in Indianapolis just seems outrageous! I honestly feel very taken advantage of. I just can't...

Anyway, does anyone know of venues that aren't insanely overpriced or have suggestions on ways to cut costs for venues and catering?

It took us a while, but we had ours at a venue that just had a Food/Drink minimum. If we didn't hit $2,500, we still had to pay the difference. With 65 people and open bar, we hit that with no problem. Our was a Yacht Club, but plenty of Golf Clubs/Country Clubs that do not require membership have the same options.

Alot of venues i looked at wanted at least $10000. Now my focus is finding transportation and the best advice a vendor gave me was to stop mentioning the word wedding and watch the prices drop significantly.
