Why can't I find a decent mother son dance song?

It depends, what type of music does your FMIL/FH like? R&B, 80s pop, country, modern, etc?

I've been paddling the same boat. I put it in FH's lap. His mother, he has to pick.

Depends on what type of music. We chose Momma by Boys to Men. It's an R & B song.

"When you need me" by Springsteen.

FH's mother picked "I Hope You Dance".

My MIL picked Mom by Garth Brooks.

I agree, I told them to pick and they have no clue... I was trying to gather some options to give them inspiration. Neither them are huge music lovers. FH listens to mostly pop music with some country, FMIL listens to 70's and 80's music. Thanks!

Never mind- I just saw your comment. Hmmm...I think they could pretty much dance to anything. The song doesn't have to be about mother's and sons. How about a song they just both really like.

H and MIL did "The Promise" by When In Rome. So wonderfully eighties! They used to love to listen to it together in the car when H was a kid. And most of the lyrics are very sweet and perfectly appropriate.

As a huge Backstreet Boys fan this choice only made me more excited I said yes.

Ultimately this should be up to your FH and FMIL, but I agree with pp about "The Perfect Fan" by the Backstreet Boys. As another huge BSB fan *waves to flyingsoon* this is always the first song that comes to mind.
