Who's having an all day wedding?

What time is everyone's ceremony and reception? Is it not as common anymore to have a 12 or 1 ceremony and reception 5 and on? Anyone else doing this? What are you doing for guests? My bridal party is already apprehensive I can tell. I'm trying to be accomdating, but this is difficult lol! Anyone...

Weddings here in UK still tend to run all day, I don't see why not as you pay enough, make it last lol.

Our timeline (venue coordinator is EXTREMELY organised) will be along the lines of 1:30pm Ceremony to end at 2pm.

    Drinks reception and photos 2pm - 4pm

    Wedding Breakfast and speeches 4pm-6pm

Tea & Coffee in another room whilst they set up evening. 6pm-7pm

    Evening Reception 7pm - 00:30am

Then if anyone does want to stay longer, those who are staying overnight in the building have access to a lounge with drinks served until 3am.

Not a fan of the gap. Most couples do them because they want a church wedding, which is typically held during the day. But they also want a night time dinner and dancing reception. There is simply no way to do this without inconveniencing your guests. Even if I'm local, and driving home for the "gap", I'm still driving round-trip, potentially across town, twice. If both events are 30 minutes away from my house (hard to be much closer for most folks) that means I'm commuting for two hours for your wedding. I spent an hour getting into a dress and heels, and doing my hair and makeup...and now what? I'm gonna go home and do laundry for a couple of hours? Most people are polite enough not to complain, but it's not ideal, and seems ultimately selfish to me.

Our wedding ceremony started at 4pm and the reception was at 6. Two separate locations, but they were close by. I couldn't have an earlier wedding. I don't know how people have morning weddings. I would definitely be late. Lol.

I have learned from WW that the early wedding and evening reception tends to be a Midwest thing. In my area (Michigan) ceremonies usually fall somewhere between 11 and 2 and the receptions begin with a cocktail hour somewhere between 4 and 6 and lasts until Midnight. That's just the norm in my area - are you Midwest?

Totally rocking the gap, and not ashamed, I have never been to a wedding in my area that didn't have one!

    1pm Ceremony

2pm Open House for guests at my parents house

    5pm Cocktail hour starts

    6pm reception starts

I think it is way too much to expect people to give you all day for a wedding.

    Ceremony: 2pm

    Cocktail Hour: 2:30-3:30

    Reception: 3:30-9:30

It's a bit long, but since it's a Saturday I wanted to have it run as long as the venue would let me. We had to opt for an earlier ceremony time due to another couple that had already booked their ceremony at 4pm.
