Who's doing readings??

Danielle, on October 10, 2020 at 7:44 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 11
I have a 2 part reading supposedly happening. My fiance's sister will do the first part and my brother will do the second part. It's a little back n forth thing I've found. They're both not walking so I thought this would be cute. They'll stand right where they are in the audience n do their parts. What yall think??

I like it! I love including both families.
My mom and my FIL did both of ours. I wanted both families to participate to show their support and our families combining 😊

I think it sounds good. The only thing I would consider is having them come to the front of the altar because I would worry that the people behind them might not hear them as well because they have their backs to them. Otherwise, I think it's great that you are going to include both of your families.

As long as they have wireless mics, they should be fine to speak from their seats. Not everyone is comfortable standing in front of a crowd but they wouldn't have any issue speaking from their place in the audience. Go for it.

Any readings we have will be done by the officiant to make it flow easier without having to pause for people to get up, etc. Plus a couple others as reading material in programs.

We didn't do any readings. But I agree with Veronica, and it may be better to hear them if they come up to the front to do it.

Unless they are trained speakers, I would have them come to the front to do the reading.

We had readings - FIL and one of my BMs, and *both* are trained actors, and they still used mics. Bodies and furniture and decorations can eat up sound, and if you're outside, so can the wind.

My two sisters in law both did readings. They just made sure they sat in seats that were convenient to get out of to walk to the front.

I think it would be weird to do a reading from my seat. I wouldn’t know where to look, knowing that either the bride and groom or most of the guests would be looking at my back.
