Who wears corsages & boutonnières?

Lexie, on January 8, 2018 at 3:44 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11
Initially I didn’t want to have any wedding party flowers (corsages and boutonnières) I just wanted my bouquet and my groom to wear a boutonnière. But my mom thinks it’s nice to have all the immediate family wearing flowers just so they stand out and people can tell who they are, which I totally get but I’m still not sure what I want to do... I just Wanted to get some thoughts on that and how important people think it is to have the whole wedding party/ immediate family wearing flowers?

Parents and grandparents I thought were the ones who got corsages and boutonnières.

The groom and GM usually wear boutonnieres and parents and sometimes grandparents get corsages and boutonnieres.

We plan on getting corsages and boutonnieres for our parents and grandparents. Bridesmaids and myself will all have bouquets and then the groomsmen will also all have boutonnieres.

Bouquets (this is traditional but there are many other options now) for bridesmaids, boutonnière for groomsmen, corsages for MOther if Bride and Mother of Groom, Boutonnière for Father of Bride and Father of Groom. Same for any Grandparents!

BM and I will have bouquets

FH and GM will have boutonnieres, along with dads and ushers (our brothers)

Moms and sister will have corsages

Normally grandparents are also included, but we don't have any.

Corsages go to the MOB, MOG, and grandmothers. Bouts go to Groom, BM, Groomsmen, FOB, FOG, and grandfathers. Bridesmaids and MOH usual get bouquets so no corsages.

    This is what we’re doing...

Bouquets: BMs and bride (JBMs will have much smaller bouquets than the BMs)

Boutonnières: GM, groom, father of the bride, father of the groom, grandfathers, and ring bearer

Corsages: mother of the bride, mother of the groom, and grandmothers

Flower girl will carry a little pom instead of a basket of flowers

Traditionally Groom, GM, and dads/male ushers get boutonnieres, and moms/female ushers get corsages.

but if you want a more simple look, you could do just you guys with flowers and do some sort of alternative for the BP/parents? its your wedding and its entirely up to you what you do, but it does help the immediate family members stand out a bit more and look cohesive. usually its just grandparents and parents that get flowers, its not usually siblings or their families or children.

We're not having a bridal party so FH, our fathers, and our FBIL will have bouts; our moms and his sister will have corsages

Everyone is pretty much on target. The entire wedding party get some kind of flower and usually out of respect and honor, so do the grandparents. You don't have to get crazy fancy. My party's bouts and bouquets were very simple yet pretty. Mine and hubby's were a bit more elaborate.
