Who to invite to dress fittings?

My wedding is not until 2019, but I always get ahead of myself and start thinking early. I have 5 bridesmaids and they all want to go to my dress fitting(s) when I start looking, which I'm fine with. I also want my mom there. But am I supposed to invite my future mother-in-law as well? I think 6...
My wedding is not until 2019, but I always get ahead of myself and start thinking early. I have 5 bridesmaids and they all want to go to my dress fitting(s) when I start looking, which I'm fine with. I also want my mom there. But am I supposed to invite my future mother-in-law as well? I think 6 people is already pushing it, so I'm kind of iffy on inviting her. But I know she'd be offended if I don't... I'm trying to tread carefully, but I also want the people who will be supportive there. Has anyone else experienced this??

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT invite your mother in law.

First of all, you should ONLY invite people whose opinion you truly value and you wouldnt imagine making such a decision without them - people like obvi - your mother.

I tell you this from experience. I work at a bridal boutique and let me tell you - sometimes its crazy. I have heard bridesmaids give hateful comments to the bride. I have also heard many FMIL give nasty comments.

When you try on your dress, keep the people that come with you small. Sometimes having too many opinions can make the dress YOU LOVE not be the one.

I’m just having my mom go with me. I don’t think it’s as important to have your entire entourage for the fitting but that’s just me.

I invited my bridesmaids, my MIL, my SIL, my mom and I have zero regrets. It was fun having them all there to share that once in a lifetime experience with. I was initially worried about having too many opinions but they all had an idea of the type of dress I wanted, which was A-line or ballgown so they were able to help me choose which dresses to try on. My MIL knew that I didn't want a fitted dress, which was her fav, but I still gave her the satisfaction of trying one on but that's it lol. When I made my decision, I sat in the dressing room with just my top 2 choices and my consultant. Ultimately the decision is yours, just remember that. It doesn't matter how many people go.
