Who stands next to me?

So my cousin is my matron of honor and my longest childhood friend is my maid of honor. I don’t know who to have standing next to me at the altar. I definitely love them both and have such different relationships with each of them, especially in my older years. Clearly my friend I grew up with 24/7 and we are like sisters but she lives further away so we don’t see each other as much. My cousin, we grew up together but didn’t start becoming super close until the last 5-6 years. She’s done SO much for me for my wedding. Just both very different but special relationships. Any advice?

If you really can't decide between the two of them, I would just do it by height. That way no one can say you chose one over the other. My two older sisters are my maid and matron of honor, and I'll be having my maid of honor next to me. I don't really think my other sister will mind that much, they're both being honored with their titles

I agree with PP, I would do it based on height. That way no one can take it personally. You’re obviously very close to both of them to give them that role in your wedding, I wouldn’t think any further into it.

Daughter had both a Maid and a Matron of honor, both friends since very early childhood. She asked one to stand beside her during the ceremony and hold her bouquet, and asked the other to sign the marriage license as her witness. And, they wrote and delivered a speech together. I think they both felt "equally" honored.

I had two maids of honor and I had my childhood best friend be the one next to me and the other was a friend I've known also since a child but for some reason in my mind when I picture everyone, that's how I saw it
