Who Should Walk First?!

Susan, on March 28, 2019 at 3:43 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 5
FH and I aren’t having a wedding party, but I do want our kids seated by themselves once everyone else has been seated. Kind of their own little professional; but they won’t be standing.

Should they walk and sit and then FH walks and gets situated before I walk down the aisle; OR should he already be standing up there when the kids are seated? I feel like it should be the former, but I just wanted other opinions.

Thanks in advance!

I vote for him to be standing up there. That way they feel comfortable with someone to walk towards, which can make a difference depending on their age.

I would have FH walk first and then as the kids walk before they are seated give maybe a high five or a hug, or a fist bump, then have the kids sit.

I agree with the others- a familiar face at the end will help get them down the aisle. Our officiant and one of my bridesmaids are the parents to our flower girl. Having daddy at the end, and mommy having going right before her, will definitely help our shy little girl walk down the aisle.

Perfect, thanks so much for the feedback!

We decided he will be up there with the officiant and then the kiddos will walk down and take a seat before I come down.
