Who should walk a 2 1/2 year old FG down the aisle?

Traci, on July 24, 2017 at 1:06 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15

My 2 and a half year old niece will be my flower girl.. so she'll likely need someone to escort her. How does this work? Her mom will be a bridesmaid and her sister will be a junior bridesmaid. Her father won't be at the wedding. What is the best way to go? I'd prefer to have my 15 year old Jr bridesmaid walk with her (her sister) but that may look awkward. We also have a 4 year old ring bearer who could hold her hand, obviously he'll have a better understanding of the job than a 2 year old. What did other people do??

I really have no advice, weddings I've seen with FG/RB that young it really doesn't go well. They are to small, get scared, act up, etc. I'd ask her mother what she thinks would be best, she knows her kid better than anyone. I

Is there an older girl who can walk with her? My niece is 2, my cousin is really good with her and a flower girl but she's just too young and it's not gonna work out. I did consider it though

My RBs were 4 years old and 18 months. It worked out perfectly. They held hands and walked down the aisle then went to sit down with their parents.

It's just whatever you want. Are your bridesmaids walking by themselves or with the groomsmen? If thy are going by themselves then I think it would look cute for her sister to help Her down the aisle. Or it would also be cute for the ring bearer and flower girl to go together. I wouldn't worry too much about it not "looking good" ... It will be cute. My son is the ring bearer in my wedding and he won't be 2 yet. It'll probably be a disaster but I don't really care lol. He will be so cute. I think I'll make a final decision at the rehearsal what will be the best way to go about it.

My step daughter will be our flower girl (also 2.5 then) and my godson will be the RB (5 then). They have never met but I plan to introduce them ahead and let them hang out to get comfortable together a few times before my day. Then I will probably just rehearse with her a few times and tell her to walk to daddy. Hopefully RB can just keep her generally on track. Our aisle is only going to be like 30 feet so I'm hopeful the short distance will help.

I'm having my three nieces walk together. They love holding hands with one another and are already practicing throwing fake flowers EVERYWHERE! They will be 5,4, and 2 1/2 at my wedding.

It all depends on who she is comfortable with. If your RB is only 4 IDK if he will be able to help keep her on task. Her sister would be a good choice but if you have any other family that she is close withh, it could work

Maybe have the junior bridesmaid walk both if the younger ones down the isle?

My baby sister is our FG, and she'll be about 2.5 as well. I'm probably going to have my mom walk her down the aisle. She might act up but oh well.

My niece is one of my flower girls (or flower babies hehe) and will only be 15 months at the time of our wedding. She JUST started walking this week! Her older cousin is our other flower girl and she will be 4...she has been a flower girl 3x already and done great every time. Since my niece knows her, we're thinking she can hold her hand and lead her down the aisle. If she isn't having it, then one of their mom's will hold her/walk them down. I am not expecting much out of a 1 year old lol. No matter what, the kids are ALWAYS cute!!

My FGs were about that age. We just had their mothers walk directly behind them. That seemed to work well!

My niece will turn 2 in April, and we're debating her as our FG. My sister is one of my MOH, so I'm thinking that she would walk down the isle if her mom is the one she is walking to.

Also debating having my nephew (her older brother - he'll be 7) walk down with my niece... they can just be the flower brigade together Smiley smile

I can't help but wonder how that works... if she needs someone to walk her down I'd be inclined to say she's too young to be a flower girl. Then again, I don't have one for that very reason so maybe I'm slightly biased.
