Who sets up the tablescape?

Apart from my florists setting up the floral arrangements, the hotel setting up the tables, and the rental company bringing and setting up the chairs, who should be responsible for setting up the table scape? Is that a responsibility of my coordinator or should I be tasking family & friends to come in to help?

I would ask your coordinator and avoid asking friends and family to work at the wedding.

Usually it is the hotel event staff which are your servers for the night. They will also fold your napkins and set your menus. You should not ask friends and family to work at your event.

My florist/event designer did all this, but if yours doesn’t you’ll have to either pay them extra, hire someone else, or do it yourself. Depending on how involved the set up is I’m not sure this is a coordinator’s job. Under no circumstances is it appropriate to put friends and family to work.

Our venue coordinator did this. However, it was noted in our contract that they would only place decor on the tables, not “assemble” anything.
