Who Said the L word first?

I daid it first to my FH. He was thrilled lol

My husband said it first. I was very surprised because we were cuddling on the couch and it came out of nowhere.

My wife said it first. I was so caught off guard I said “what did you just say to me?” 😂

I said it first. He shows his emotions more through actions than words I have found in our relationship lol.

View Quoted Comment I think we have a similar type of husband. Mine never say the L word. He did wrote notes or through chat but only in the very beginning of our relationship (24 years ago), and when I wanted a divorce 3 years ago 😂 That changed him 175 degree.

We had only been dating a few months at the time. I dropped him off one morning for his golf tournament, and as he was getting out of my car I said: "have a great time, bye, I love you". It's just second nature for me to say "bye, I love you." to friends and family when we part ways, so I just blurted it out! It wasn't until I saw the look on his face, that I realized what I had actually said to him. 😂

All he said was: "k...bye.", then shut the car door in my face! 😂😂 Later that day he had texted me and we talked about it. The feeling was mutual, but I def. caught him off guard!

My fiancé did! We had only been together a few weeks and still navigating whether we'd end up speaking English or Spanish with each other (my native language and his, respectively). He got all quiet for a while and then looked straight at me, and his exact words were "I think I'm getting in love with you." I will never ever forget that!

We both thought it was just way too soon to say it. But I will never forget we were walking through Target and I did something silly that made him laugh and without even thinking he said "Haha I love you so much" He didn't even realize he said it until I went "HA! YOU SAID IT!" Floodgates were opened. Four years later we got engaged on New Years!

I said it first. We had only been dating for about 3 months but I knew for a while and was afraid to tell him "too soon" so I waited. And I just got to this point where I just wanted him to know, whether it was too soon and whether he felt the same or not. My FH was so shocked that he started telling me a whole story before he finally said it back

FH said it first and he slipped it in conversation so well. I was talking about something (I can't remember what) and then he was spitting out questions to try and finish my sentence. I kept saying no and really fast he said "is it because I love you"? It took me a second but I finally caught on. I said it back and we just started laughing like ok cool. We're on the same page lol. Funny enough, I had created a lovebook for him (that I hadn't given him yet). One of the pages said I love you in multiple languages and that was going to be my coming out "I love you" moment. He beat me to the punch.

He said it for real after us dating for just a few weeks. He said it on accident during Mario Kart the first time a bit before that. He was roasting me while we played and said "I love you Gabby" kinda more in a friend way. 😅 I just acted like it wasn't a big deal.

My fiance said it first! We had gone to an apple orchard that day, and we'd been dating for a few months at that point.

I did, but I kind of cheated. I told DH that my DAD said I sounded like I was falling in love.

And DH said he was, too.

...We'd been dating 5 days.

It was also 8 1/2 years ago.

I said it first but he says it more now. It's all good.

I did. He was taken a back because it was so quickly but then I found out that he loved me too but was too afraid to admit it.

Prior to that day, we had gone to Panda Express and apparently, the fortune in his cookie said, 'Don't Forget to Say I Love You'. So one day he showed me that and explained when he got it and was like, so I'm trying to say I Love You. I said it back... He keeps that tiny piece of paper in his wall to this day.

My hubby and then I said it a week later lol
