That's so ridiculous! I have a few friends that proposed to their now-husbands and they are just as well off as couples where the husband proposed. I think proposals are personal and suit the specific relationship. For my relationship, we both felt like he needed to be the one to eventually propose, but I know that's not for everyone and I love hearing all the different stories. How did you propose! I had a friend who proposed to her now-husband during DnD and it was SUPER cute!!

That's great! I was honestly on the verge of doing it but knowing how my fiance is, I wasn't sure if it would have made him feel some kind of way. Luckily I didn't though because he had bought the ring already and proposed to me not too long after we talked about it.

Umm kind of. One night we went out for my friends birthday and were eating fast food in our hotel room that night. After a few too many drinks I asked my FH to marry me lol. He was like wait what, no I want to ask but do it with a ring. It happened for real with him asking me 6 months later!

Ahhhhhhh do not listen. My SIL asked her husband to marry him. I had a serious conversation with my FH about our future I guess I set things in motion ha ha but he gave me a ring about three years ago I just wanted to make it official since we knew we were committed...I wanted his last name :p. I think things have changed and if you knew you wanted to marry him then nothing wrong with you asking even if some ladies may disagree.

We’re not sure who proposed to who.....it was a discussion while I was doing my taxes last year. I had to clarify that we were, in fact, engaged. Here’s to my SO being an engineer 😜

I think it’s awesome you proposed! All relationships are unique and a proposal is so special, no matter how it happens. I totally would have proposed to my FH if he would have waited any longer! 😂 I had even looked at rings for him, but he beat me to it. Haha.

My FH wanted his own proposal, so I proposed to him first. It was scary and wonderful even though I knew he’d say yes!

I didn't really get an official proposal. The Christmas after we graduated HS he gave me a diamond ring. I was in college a state away, he was still in our hometown. Five years later around Christmas we decided we were ready to make the leap and married in August. We've now been married almost 38 years.

I definitely got the ball rolling. We were having a discussion about life and I asked his thoughts about marriage. He said that he thought we should. I said "Really?" He said "yes" . My response "so we really going to do this?" He replied "yes". Just like that, we were engaged.

A week later he did get on one knee when he presented the engagement ring and asked me to marry him. :-)

Oh that's funny. I'm pretty my proposal came of stuttering and something to the likes of would like to do life together and just hang around each other forever lol. He said yeah I think we could do that.

I knew without a doubt he would never propose, which is why I decided to go for it. We had a couple of talks and knew we were committed, but I want that little extra.

It for sure got us on the same page as far as where we wanted the relationship to go lol. He proposed at home without a few too many drinks in him lol. But he teases me about my drunken proposal once in awhile
