Who picks the songs?

I think it can be either one, but I had my dad pick ours. He took it very seriously and it was so awesome what he picked because it was a well known song (You are so beautiful to me) but it also had a Hawaiian translation which was amazing! I had never heard it before! He definitely did a great job. But for my sister's wedding she gave him a list of about 5 songs and he picked his favorite. So you can choose it together or decide on your own who wants to pick it out.

My dad and I picked one together and my FH picked his song with his mom. It can be any of you really.

My dad told me the song he wanted. My mother died 20 years ago. My dad and I will dance to the song my mother and her father danced to in 1972.

I chose the song for my father/daughter dance, but it really depends on what your family wants to do. There are some brides on here who had the parents pick the song.

McLopez - that is beautiful. It may be all the week before wedding emotions but that just made me cry.

My dad is picking the song and keeping it a surprise until the big day. FH gave his mom the option to choose it or he would choose it for them, she wanted to pick the song together with him.

I came up with a couple ideas and told my dad. He knows FH and I are doing some non traditional things and aren't big dancers, so he assumed we weren't doing a father daughter dance or any dances at all. He was so excited when I told him we were, that he said he would take charge of choosing the song and take my ideas under consideration. I know he will choose something classic rock, so I'll be fine with whatever he decides on.

Delisa....Nothing is ever a stupid question when planning wedding details. I would suggest talking with your Dad to see if he would like to pick it and possibly you pick a song yourself that speaks to your heart about the relationship you have with him...Same goes for your fiancée. Either way I don't think you could go wrong!
