Who pays travel fees?

While it's OK to have the girls cover the cost for their own services if it isn't mandatory, I would still cover the travel fees.

Are you requiring that the bridal party get hair and makeup?
If yes, then you need to pay for all of it.
If you are not requiring hair and make up then it isn’t out of the question to ask them to chip in for the travel fee. However, it would be nice if you just covered it yourself since it is for your wedding and you are the main reason they are coming.

Personally, I would recommend that you cover the travel fee as a courtesy to your bridesmaids.

I would definitely plan to cover the travel fee yourself. Additionally, bridesmaids only pay for hair and makeup if getting hair and makeup done is optional.

The bride should cover travel fees

When I was a bridesmaid, the bride just told us how much it would cost total and we sent her the money and she just paid the hair/makeup artist! I didn’t question and I just paid it! I would just get the total cost and tell them how much their portion is!

The bride should definitely cover any travel fees since you are the one requesting the hair/makeup artist travel to you rather than you traveling to them.

The bride should cover the travel fees if she’s the one requesting for the service, especially if a closer vendor with less/no travel fee could’ve been hired for the job. If the other girls also want hair and makeup done, then they should only need to pay just that.

Personally, I think the bride should cover the travel. I’m paying for mine, my MOH (my sister) & 1 bridesmaid (my daughter) for hair & makeup (that’s including the travel fee). They’re covering the tip.

It is okay to have them pay for their own hair and makeup, if you are not requiring. But since you hired the HUMA, you are responsible for the travel fee.
