Who pays for flower girl dress?

I think it would be sweet of you to pay for the FG dresses! The mother might be expecting that because your fiance's sister paid for the dresses, if I read your post correctly

Our daughter is the FG so we are buying the dress.. unless one of our parents wants to but that’s up to them !

When I was a flower girl when I was younger my parents paid for the dress, but the bride and groom did give me a locket for being in the wedding. I still have it! So, I think you can either decide to pay for the dress or do a cute gift.

It would be nice to buy their dresses. After all their dresses are little enough it won't cost much.

Trish scully makes really pretty dresses. They show up on zulily at a discount a lot too. This one is $45 but they have less expensive options and offer promo codes.

They are usually readily available for $50 -65. I have never known a couple who did not offer to pay, asking parents to see to shoes, gloves, whatever. Many times , the parents will say, we can pay. But adding a hundred dollars to the budget for two girls, in addition to their shoes and accessories, is hard for many. So offer. Many parents do not offer, until after the bride chooses dresses, in case bride picks a $225 dress to match bridesmaids. And if assured any inexpensive party dress in certain colors is fine, will then offer to pay. I have twice had brides choose o er $200 dress or little suit, and another $60 or more for shoes. The only times I have not offered to pay. Last summer, $650 paid by bride for my twin 3 year olds, because I thought it silly to spend that much for something outgrown in 3 months.

Our daughters are our flower girls, so we bought their dresses of course. But if we had additional flower girls or a ring bearer, we would have definitely offered to buy their dress/suit.

We paid for their dresses, we just thought it was polite since we picked them out.
