Who pays for bridal party hair and makeup?!

Brittany, on April 25, 2017 at 7:56 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4

I have read that most of the time your bridal party will pay their own hair and makeup costs. How many of you did this? And how did you ask them to pay? I feel bad asking my friend's and family for fork up $50 for hair and $100 for makeup after they already had to pay for their dresses and travel expenses. But I don't have the budget to pay for everyone. Advice?

You only have to pay for it if you are requiring them to have it done.

I'm paying for my BMs and Mom since they will all have to travel for the wedding on top of buying their own dresses.

As a BM, I have never had to pay for hair & makeup. As a bride, I will be paying for the bridal party and my mom. I'm not requiring a specific hairstyle but my wedding is a DW so it's part of my 'thank-you'.

I've only had to get hair professionally done once out of the 3 times I've been a bridesmaid, and I did pay for that. But I booked the appointment myself, so I knew I was going to be paying for it.

I asked all my girls if they wanted their hair and makeup done, those that said yes I'm paying for. Some wanted to do their own, which is fine. I'm not mandating a particular style, they can do whatever they want to feel the most beautiful.
