Who holds the vows during the ceremony?

vghjfcxgxfgdh, on April 25, 2017 at 8:50 PM Posted in Planning 0 2

So in my regular Etsy browse I came across these "vow notebooks" that I thought were cute since FH and I want to write our own vows. However it hit me...who holds them during the processional and ceremony? at my friends wedding she stuck her paper with her vows in the MOHs bra lol( but nobody noticed since she turned around to take it out and discreetly pass it to the bride). Second thought would be the best man or officiant (in their pockets?) . Anyone have insight into this?

Our officiant is printing our vows in books for us to keep after our ceremony! I believe that she will be handing them to us when it's time for the vow exchange, although I'm not 100% sure. We're having our rehearsal on Thursday, I can let you know after that lol

I find it works best when the groom keeps his written vows in his jacket pocket and I as the officiant keep the bride's copy in my pocket. When it's the bride's turn to recite I hand her the vows then take them back when she's done (she'll get the original back after the ceremony).

The MOH will invariably have her hands full with two bouquets, the ring and no pockets. Best wishes!
