I think having your grandson walk you down the aisle is a very sweet idea.

You can have whoever you want walk you down the aisle! I agree that it’s a very sweet idea to have your grandson walk you down.

So many people was wondering what's going to happen when asked who gives this bride away? Yes he's 3 and can talk but does not have a clue of what's going on. That is why my fathers will be front and center to say they will. I'm so excited and I want him with me as I take this new journey in my life. Thanks for the positive feedback.

I agree with PPs, you can choose whoever you wNt to walk with you. My son is walking with me down the aisle, but I considered walking by myself. I think it’s sweet to have your grandson walk with you, is he also your ring bearer?

I can understand that, and I think it’s fine since they’ll be right up front. I dislike the connotation behind “who gives this woman to marry this man,” but it’s really a personal thing so do what feels right to you. Congratulations! Your grandson will have pictures to remember that special moment with you forever.

Yes. I plan to get this lil case for him to carry the rings in. He loves shades so he will be my own personal ring security guard. Lol you know kids always make that day very entertaining to take the stress of the couple. My day will still be memorable.

You don't have to include the line about "who gives this bride away". Many modern brides are choosing to omit this language and have their father or other family member walk them down as a gesture of support instead of to "give them away". Some brides, including myself, are even walking down the aisle alone!

You should have whoever you want walk you down the aisle.

Having your grandson escort you would be precious! FWIW, my dad is escorting me, but absolutely no one is asking anybody about giving someone away. Those words just won't be said. My dad will escort me down, he'll kiss my cheek, and then sit down without saying anything, except if he wants to say something privately to just me and my fiance (he probably will).

My 4 year old son is walking me! Go for it - I think it will be so sweet! We are just omitting the part where they ask who is giving me away.

It's your wedding, so it's totally your choice! Just keep in mind that toddlers can be temperamental - especially if they miss a nap on the wedding day, so you might want a back up plan just in case!

My grandson is also walking me down, along with my son, but there will be no one giving me away so that question is not being asked.
Let whomever you choose have the honor it's your day.

Perhaps your fathers could walk together, behind you and your grandson? Or in front of you guys a ways... just so they still get to "walk you down the aisle"? I would just think that if it's your first wedding, you'd be taking something they may have been waiting to do with you for a long time. Obviously it's your choice!
