The forum where we met were the first to know, so it was online friends. It was another 3 months before we went public via facebook, and then his family knew.

My mum still doesn't know, as I haven't been able to get hold of her and I don't talk to anyone else in my family. Smiley amazing

Gosh! It took us over a week to get everyone told! We got engaged Dec. 30 and started with my FH's best friend - we also asked him to be our officiant (he was on the way home) - then we told his parents. The next day we told my parents. Then we got on the phone and called all of my mom's side's aunts/uncles/cousins/grands, then his dad's side's ants/uncles/cousins. My dad's side was all together for New Years Day when we told them. His mom side was conveniently already having a get together later in the week so we waited to tell them all at once. The Wednesday after we got engaged we told his church congregation, then the following Sunday (7 days after the proposal day!) we told my congregation. FINALLY we were able to post it on facebook.

My mom of course. Then it took 3 weeks before we told anyone else. It was killing her not to tell!

My friends knew first because we wanted to keep it under wraps for a while before it went public, and we knew my mom can’t keep a secret!

My parents watched it happen from afar and my FH told his parents before he done it. We called his parents after we did it. Then I called my only grandparent and then we told his grandparents. We talked to his sister and her fiancé while we was at his grandmas house. Everyone else found out through Facebook.

I face-timed my parents first with the camera focused on the ring when they answered. Then we told his parents and my best friends.

All our close family and friends knew before I did because they all helped my FH plan it and they were all there when he proposed.

I sent texts to a few important people right away and then caught others up later. My brother was first. I had promised him he'd be first after he was last to know for another family member. Then each of my parents and a few of my closest friends. I had only admitted to one friend (who lives far away and couldn't spill the secret) that I had a good idea it was coming, so I told her right away too.

My mom was the first person I saw in person, but she already knew. My aunt was next and I got to surprise her which was fun.
