Who did a reveal before the ceremony??

Kristin , on October 20, 2016 at 8:30 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 2

We are going to be doing a reveal and all of our pictures before the ceremony. I was wondering if anyone did one and if it helped as far as how much you cried during the ceremony? I usually don't cry so when I do, its hard to stop and I don't want to just sob the whole ceremony. I'm going to have to schedule time to redo my makeup after our reveal I'm afraid. Any advice??

I think more common term is first look. I did it. I didn't cry. FH didn't cry so can't help with that question.

Strangely, I cried the day after.

I think you're talking about a First Look. Many couples do a First Look, it helps cut down on the time you're away taking photos after the ceremony so you can enjoy a little bit of your cocktail hour. For me, it especially helped to calm my nerves before the ceremony so I wouldn't cry as much. Just seeing FH then (now DH) created a special moment between us, we laughed, got a wee bit choked up, and he got to see and admire me in my dress close up (and tell me wonderful things like I looked beautiful) instead of in front of everyone at the ceremony.

I wholeheartedly advise you to do a First Look. Photographers really like it when their couples chose to do this, it lets them be more creative in their photos, you'll get more beautiful candid, real emotion photos instead of the staid, stand in a group family portraits which are often called 'formals' or formal portraits--just the name says everything.
