Who are your bridesmaids?

Stephanie, on February 28, 2021 at 7:22 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 36

My first post here, and this question came to mind. Who are your bridesmaids? Are they mostly your family or friends, or a mix of both? Best friends since kindergarten or just met a few months ago?

I have 8 bridesmaids and 2 are my sisters, 1 is a cousin, 1 is my FSIL, 2 are friends from college and the other 2 are my friends from middle and high school. I'm curious to know how you ladies's bridesmaids are linked to you.

I’m only having a MOH and she’s my best friend, met her in college. She’s like a sister to me!

I have 7! 1 is my sister, 1 is my sister in law, 1 is my niece, and then 4 are my closest friends. I’ve known one since birth (family friend), 1 since 2nd grade, 1 since 5th grade and 1 since high school

We each went with 3. We did family first. I don’t have any sisters or sister-in-laws; my brother & my FH’s two brothers are his 3. I have my best friend, my cousin, & a close friend who has been very supportive to both of us in the past few years. We toyed with just siblings (I would have my brother, FH would have his two) & just best people (my best friend & one of his brothers). My FH had a pretty clear option to do 6 (he has 3 very close friends) but once I get past those 3 my list of people very quickly balloons! Haha. I do have one other woman cousin, who I’m hoping will do at least one reading & who I will invite to any sort of bachelorette weekend (if COVID lets us have one!).

I'm having 6 bridesmaids and 2 junior bridesmaids. My Maid of Honor is my little sister. My cousin is another bridesmaid. I have a close friend from my old work at a bar, two friends from college, and my best friend from high school. My two junior bridesmaids are younger cousins of mine, both twins.

If we count flower girls, my flower girl is my fiance's niece.

I have 6 bridesmaids. My maid of honor is my best friend since 5th grade. One of my bridesmaids I've known since 7th grade. Another bridesmaid is my fiancés daughter. The next one was a old co worker I came really close with when we worked together. The last 2 our sisters that my fiance introduced to me just last year but we started hanging out all the time and just really clicked.

I just asked mine! I'm having 8 bridesmaids. My maid of honor is my best friend from kindergarten to high school. My matron of honor is my sister. Another friend from high school. I have a friend from work who I became really close to. I have two college friends, including my old college roommate. Future sister in law is another bridesmaid, and the other bridesmaid is a friend I made when were were both bridesmaids for the previously mentioned high school friend, she became one of my close friends.

I had 4. 2 are friends from childhood, 1 is my best friend from college, and my sister-in-law (who I was actually friends with in high school as well). My husband had 4 groomsmen: his 2 best friends and my 2 brothers.

We did 4 on each side with one of my husband's best friends as officiant. One bridesmaid and I have been best friends since nursery school (we'll be celebrating our 30-year friendiversary this year!), one was one of my best friends from college, one was my brother's wife SIL (she's amazing, he lucked out with her) and my man of honor was my brother. He's the greatest friend I have.

I didnt want any bridesmaids bc I couldn't choose between my friends. Then some of them who I'm super close to have other obligations or live across country, outvof tge country. If I was required then I would just probably pick my mom.

I have 5 bridesmaids and 1 MOH. My MOH is my sister. Two of my bridesmaids I've been friends with since I was young, and the other three bridesmaids I've been friends with for time periods ranging from 4-8 years.

My MOH is my best friend from college and my bridesmaids are a friend from grad school and a friend from an old job. My fiancé's BM is one of his best friends from college and his groomsmen are another best friend from college and a best friend from high school (he had a VERY hard time choosing which best friend to be his BM - he's equally close to each of them, but in different ways!). We decided against having our brothers (he has 4, I have 2) and my SIL in the wedding party, but want to incorporate them in other ways - readers, ushers, and I jokingly said my fiancé's brothers could be flower guys and now it might actually be a thing!

Our wedding party is all of our close friends and family who have been there with us through everything. My 2 sisters and my best friend from elementary school and FHs 4 closest friends. It's going to be really nice having them up there with us.

We decided not to do a wedding party, but if I had a bridal party it'd be my 3 best friends (all male).

I’m doing 3 - my older sister and my younger sister are going to be “co-matron of honor” and then my cousin (we are only 3 weeks apart in age and have always been like sisters) will be my bridesmaid. I have 7 other close friends that I would have asked to be part of the bridal party, but that made 10 bridesmaids and we’re having a pretty small wedding (probably 70ish) so having 10 of them be bridesmaids felt like overkill lol and I kept it simple with just 3 family members.
