White teeth.........

Heidi, on January 5, 2010 at 9:23 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 16

I want to get my teeth whitened for the wedding does anyone have any suggestions on it? What's the best way to do it? How long before the wedding should it be done? Anyone have a rough idea on the cost of it?

I tried the Crest White Strips Advanced a few weeks ago and it worked great! It only cost about $40 too! =)

I have to agree with Gidge22...Crest White Strips work great..but my teeth are very sensitive so I didn't use them long (I used them for a couple weeks before a big ice skating competition..no pain no gain lol) I do regularly use Crest ProHealth Whitening toothpaste and Listerine whitening and it keeps my teeth white..and I drink 3-6 cans of dark soda a day and I don't get the stains. Good luck!

My husband is an orthodontist in Colorado. I would suggest starting the process a few months before the wedding, mainly because some teeth whiten much faster than others or you might find that your teeth are more sensitive to the whitening than you expected (like beckyboo mentioned). My teeth are terribly sensitive and I can barely eat the day after so you don't want to wait until the night before and then be uncomfortable on your wedding day.

Most dentists and orthodontists can make custom bleaching trays. They cost quite a bit more than the crest white strips but do a much better/faster job. Once the trays are made they last for several years and you only need to replace the bleach which is not very expensive. Some dentists will offer free bleaching trays & bleach if you go in for your cleaning every six months which is great.

    Good luck!!!

Oh, I meant to also say that you can try the crest white strips first to see if your teeth whiten as much as you were hoping before trying the more expensive options. It's always good to start with the least expensive choice and see if it meets your needs.

Crest White Strips work! I have used these and my teeth have stayed white for a long time (almost 2 years), people still randomly tell me that I have really white teeth so I'm all for Crest White Strips! And can't beat the price =) If you do use them though, most likely they will make your teeth really sensitive even after you're done using them so you should do them about 3 weeks before the wedding.

I did white strips also, but I bought the Equate brand from Wal-Mart and it was only like $15. I started using them about a week ago and will be using them up thru the wedding. They seem to work just as well as the Crest ones do. I'd do like Rachel Eng suggested and start right now, see how your teeth react to the strips and how long it takes to get the results you want. Then you'll know when to start them before your wedding.

Crest white strips work very very well! even the cheapest ones of the crest brand works really good. I used them about 2 1/2 years ago and i still get compliments from people on how white my teeth are.

I swear by Crest White strips! The advance seal is great to use while you're getting ready in the morning, you can even drink water with them in!

I use them once a week on a regular basis and people always compliment my white teeth!

If you're going to be trying them for your wedding, you can use them twice a day for a week or so before and your teeth will be dazzeling!

Just one heads up, when I use them a couple times a day, my teeth get sensitive! If this happens, skip a day or 2!

Crest White strips do a pretty good job. However everyone is different. Some people have teeth that just won't whiten as much as others. It really depends on the base shade of your teeth. As far as professional whitening, you have the option for in-office or take home whitening. Every office will have different fees for these services. We offer our in-office for $400, but that is because it requires 2 hours of chairtime and an assistant to do it. We do the take home trays for $50 for our established patients. You will get the same results with either in-office or take home. If you can't find a good deal through a local dental office I would suggest trying the Crest White strips. Would definately start atleast a month before the wedding. You may have sensitivity and if so you can whiten every other day. Also beware if you have any existing "white spots" or decalcification. If you have this the spots will be even brighter than they were before, so they may show more! Good Luck!

    Heidi,

As a professional I want to suggest you to, instead of spending $15 - $50 here and there and give up in results that don't show fast, go and look up to some salons & spas and ask for 'Beaming White'.

It's a Teeth Whitening System that not only the services can be On-Location, but uses a cold blue light and it takes 15 - 30 mins. It costs around $100 - $125 depending on your city & State. That way you don't have to worry, other than just making sure to show your smile.
