White see through box, Removing Sections & Google Maps

Ingrid, on December 29, 2019 at 7:55 PM Posted in Account Support 0 3

Hello

I've chosen the Modern Photo theme for our website, but I can't seem to get rid of the white see through box to be able to see our picture uploaded behind it. When looking at the different theme options I don't see a white see through box on any theme. Does anyone have an idea of how to get rid of that box?

Also on the home/Welcome page, I'm not interested in adding our story (we've been together for 10+ years) our family and friends know our story! How can I remove Add Page Name & Our Story sections? Can I just have our names & date of our wedding?

On the Event page, is there a way to remove the Google Maps from the page? Takes up way too much space and don't like the way it looks on the event.

Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure about the white box or maps, but as far as getting rid of content I've usually seen a trash can icon show up on the page if you hover over the section. Entire pages can be hidden in the settings.

    Hi Ingrid!

The white box is included in the layout and cannot be removed though I am happy to share this feedback with our Development Team.
All of our pages require a title and description so it sounds like removing the Welcome page may be the best solution for you. To remove your Welcome page, go to Pages, select the page and then click 'Delete Page'.
The maps cannot be deleted, though you are able to delete the Events page and create a Custom Page which will not have maps load when an address is input. To create a custom page go to Pages, then New Page and select Custom Page.

Thank you! This has been a big help.

Is it possible to rearrange the pages when making a Custom Page? The Custom Page I made is now showing last at the top, after Accommodations then Photos. I tried using the three dots on the left pane but that only opened the the editing of the page.
