White or Ivory Veil?

Missy, on January 29, 2014 at 11:56 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15

I am having my veil custom made by someone on Etsy who does a beautiful job and for a fraction of the price and she gave me the option of white or ivory. My dress is more of a light ivory (see attached) but I wasn't sure what I should go with for the veil. Thoughts?

Go with whatever matches your dress. If you get a white veil, it may make your dress look dingy since your dress is ivory.

ETA: Beautiful dress by the way!

Ivory, for sure. When I tried my dress on, I found a beautiful veil I loved. At my fitting, they put that style veil on me, but it was white. It clashed terribly, the dress did not look right.

Ask her to mail you swatches. I know a lot of custom order sellers do that.

The lady who is making my flower girl's dress sent me swatches.

I did and I already have the swatches. But my dress is at the bridal shop because my fiance and I live together and I didn't want the dress in the house.

I would ask for swatches, but go with the ivory. If your dress is ivory then I think you need an ivory veil. My dress is ivory so I got an ivory cathedral veil to match.

I ordered a veil off of Etsy; my dress is "ivory satin" and I wound up selecting an option of "candlelight ivory" which was a lighter version of traditional ivory; the veil maker explained to me that the ivory they are using in most gowns is lighter than the traditional ivory tulle. My light ivory works perfectly with my ivory gown...just a thought in case that is one of your choices.

That is great advice... my dress is ivory dupioni silk so it has a sheen to it. Can you let me know who made your veil off etsy?
