White bridesmaid dresses

What’s everyone’s opinion on white for bridesmaids? I’m kind of digging the look. Would it take away from the bride

I like the look of bridesmaids in white, but if I was the bride, I would probably wear a different color. I honestly don’t think anything takes away from the bride though.

I’ve seen white bridesmaids dresses before and it looks nice. If you’re worried about not standing out (which I doubt will be a problem 😄) maybe you can do something to tie all the bridesmaids together. For example, fabrics. Like if you have a satin dress, maybe your girls can do all lace. Good luck with planning !

I’ve seen people do that before and although I think it’s pretty I would prefer at least having some differentiation like maybe a short dress for bridesmaid if it’s gonna be white

My original plan was to have a purple wedding gown and white or silver bm dresses. I didn’t do it but I think it’s such a pretty look.

Definitely make it what you want! I’ve seen some beautiful all white weddings! With accessories etc, you’ll still stand out as the bride ☺️

I personally don't like the look unless the bride plains on wearing something that isn't white. It doesn't make the bride stand out at all.

I suppose it can look pretty if done well (very different style from what the bride is wearing), but from the bridesmaids' perspective, I do not like this idea whatsoever. As a bridesmaid, making me buy a white dress for your day is basically saying, "hey buy this dress that you will only be able to wear once." At least choose a color that people will be able to wear again!

All I know is I had a friend who was a BM and had to wear white and was MISERABLE - it’s not a color a ton of people are confident in, maybe ask their input?

Same here! I have a friend who was forced to wear a white dress as a BM and she hated every moment of it...

The only way I like this look is if the bride is wearing a floral wedding dress with pops of color, or an actual colored wedding dress to make her stand out. I think all white definitely takes away from the bride. Ive seen wedding photos where I had to scan the photo for a minute to figure out which one was the bride and thats just a big no from me.. as for the comments... meh. Its your big day. If theyre your best friends and family they can suck it up and wear a white dress for 7 hours if thats what u want them to wear

I'd ask your bridesmaids! Maybe tell them about your idea for them to wear white and then tell them your "backup plan" and see which they like more? I'm personally really worried about wearing white as a bride to begin with so I know I'd be upset about a white bridesmaid dress. Obviously I'd do it, but I wouldn't like the dress / wear it again afterwards.

I think if you are going for a different color then the usual white for your dress then I'd think it would be a cool idea. You could also find them a dress that is white with a colorful design on it so it isn't just white. Me personally I don't want my bridesmaids wear white at all to my wedding and I don't want their dress to look similar to mine.

Personally, I love the look. I agree with PP's that there are plenty of ways to stand out, like fabric or length.

I think as long as it's what the bride wants, there's no reason to not go for it! I'd just make sure the bride's dress is a distinctly different style than the bridesmaids. You can do that using a different silhouette, have it be the only dress with lace/beading, wear a non-white gown, etc. Something to make it clearly different so it still stands out.

I personally don't like that look but it's your wedding day and you have to follow your heart.
