I’m 16 days away from the big day and I have to decide which shrug I should wear with my wedding dress. Or, if I should not wear one at all. I don’t have a picture of the third yet. It’s a light silver faux fur bolero made by an Etsy shop. Here are the other two. I’m just feeling self conscious a bit. What do you think? I love that the first one is very glitter like, but am still trying to get the excess glitter out of the tulle. The second one is a shimmery, but more muted and with slightly longer sleeves. There is a noticeable seam in the middle of the back of the longer sleeve one, but it doesn’t look too bad. Thanks so much.

I also think it looks best without the shrug! I completely understand being self conscious, but you look absolutely beautiful in your dress Smiley smile

Oh these are perfect! I love them and I think it'll good great with your dress. Also if you feel like you absolutely need something to cover, have you considered the faux fur wrap (that is if your getting married in the cooler temps)

I prefer the 2nd one since it's tighter. Can we see a picture of the silver faux fur wrap you're considering? That sounds pretty too! And it goes without saying that you are beautiful without any shawl. Smiley heart

Thank you. I don’t have a photo yet because the fur shrug still has to be made.

I also agree that you look great without the shrugs! I wouldn't be self-conscious at all - you look beautiful!

If you're doing something more outdoorsy then a fur shawl could be very nice. I had trouble finding plus-sized ones on my budget so I ended up making mine (one for me and 3 for my bridesmaids). It wasn't super difficult to do and I made them nice and long so they have a very Old Hollywood feel and they're also very snuggly.

If you're not going to be outdoors very much, you could just skip the shawl altogether, or as others mentioned, a capelet could be very nice, or shoulder jewelry that matches your necklace could be nice, too. But that may be over-the-top. Just some options! (Found these on Amazon)

Thank you. I already have these. We were thinking of doing outdoor photos and live in New England. I like the idea of a bolero style because I don’t like having to hold a shawl and my bouquet and my baby all at the same time. I’m hoping that the Etsy seller can come through for me, since she was too busy with Halloween orders previously.

These are super cute and I LOVE that tiara! If your Etsy designer doesn't pull through and you still want to use one of the other 2 shrugs, then I'm voting for the 2nd one with the longer sleeves. :-) How exciting that you're so close to your date!!

My stole didn't have a size but it was a generous cut and since it draped over the shoulders without closing I had no problem with the fit. However, when I was ordering the faux fur wraps for my girls, I did notice that because they close in front the fit was very snug. I actually had to reorder a wrap for one of my BMs because when I got the original order I tried it on since her shoulder width is similar to mine and I couldn't close it. I had to get a larger size and that ended up fitting much better. If you're already working with someone on Etsy to do a custom measurement I think that is the way to go. I wanted to do that for my girls but couldn't get their measurements in time.

Thanks so much, everyone. I figured out a way of deciding. I put on a tank top and tried on both shrugs for my fiancé and had him pick one. LOL He doesn’t know what my dress looks like, so it’s still a surprise.

I’m wearing the fur one (if I can get it on time) for our first look outdoors.
