Hi Everyone,

Hoping I can get some guidance. Recently engaged and looking to tie the knot early 2026. I did some research on a wedding planner and outlined an impressive spreadsheet. Now I'm stuck! I've seen many brides say having a theme helps. I in particular have 3 colors that I hope comes together: white, olive and gold. My groom is much like go ahead sweetheart have fun. So as of right now I'm stuck on what's next.

First step is usually to decide on a rough estimate of guests and decide a general time of year (2026–but spring? Summer? Fall?). Then, pick a budget you are comfortable spending. After that, you will be able to search for venues that fit your budget and your guest occupancy. Once you find a venue, you can look for other vendors (photographer, caterer, DJ, etc.). I’d honestly pick the theme after you find the venue, as you want to make sure your color scheme plays well with whatever theme/decor/vibe your venue is.

Hannah has the order perfectly! Guest count, budget and then search for your venue. BUT - to answer your question (the fun part of planning LOLOL) I Googled "wedding theme with olive, white and gold" There were a ton of fun ideas - here's one that had more of a forest green hue.

Once you have a venue and date set, everything else will be a lot easier, so don't worry about the theme yet

Hire a wedding planner, everyone has a bunch of different opinions on them, but in all honesty having a wedding planner helps so much they lead you in the right direction and allow you to enjoy the planning process. Even if you have one for just partial help it is great. Honestly worth every penny!!!
