Where to start with custom?

Has anyone had a custom suit made for their wedding?

I freaking love this ASOS suit. But they don't sell it anymore. Would I be able to take these pictures to ???a tailor maybe??? and have it made from scratch? Do you purchase fabric and lace yourself before going in?

My husband got his suit custom made, too! We did it at Nordstrom, but if I were you, I'd talk to a tailor and show them your inspo. Then ask them if they'd like you to source the lace/fabric, and get their professional opinion on the fabric for the underlayer (including weft, ply, weight, etc). Depending on how large you are, you'll need between 3-6 yards of each type of fabric. (slightly more if you want a 3-piece look). One word of caution though, lace (even cheaply made/poor fabric quality) is EXTREMELY expensive for the quality you get because it's so labor-intensive to make. I'm thinking that you're probably looking at roughly $500 in fabric (since you won't get a bulk discount) plus whatever the tailor would charge for work.

    Good luck!

SIL's suit was custom made by Indochino (they have brick & mortar stores or you can do the whole thing online). I'm not sure if they allow for custom fabric options, but you can email or call to see.
