Where to hire waitstaff from?

Amy, on September 22, 2017 at 8:10 AM Posted in Planning 0 3

My caterer only delivers the food, and then we have to hire waitstaff to receive the food and set up, as well as keep drink stations filled. We're doing buffet style, so only food setup is needed and not serving. I've gotten one quote from a local place that is fairly new, so there's not a ton of reviews, but the reviews they have are good, and the manager I've been talking to seems to be really nice and knowledgeable and they have good credentials. But hiring a new company makes me nervous...so I'm trying to get some quotes from other places too, just to see if it's worth paying a more for somewhere that's been in business longer (the new company's servers charge $20/hour, avg. for my area is $25/hour).

There are staffing companies an hour and a half way both directions in the closest towns, but nowhere local except for this one new company.

So, I know this is kind of turning into a "I have no other option" post, but does anyone have any unique suggestions of where I could look?

Definitely ask your caterer. They may know of places that other couples have used in the past. Sometimes, if the company is familiar with the place/food, they may offer you a discount. Cant hurt to try!
