where to get things engraved?

busybride, on May 1, 2013 at 5:12 PM Posted in Planning 0 6

So I went to the mall with a bag load of things to get engraved before the wedding (mainly gifts for the bridal party) and much to my surprise, the 'things remembered' store was not there. Apparently it has closed. I don't know the area well since I only recently moved here, but I figured there may be other chain stores (that may be in my area) that do engraving. So do any of you know where I might get something engraved? What stores do this?

Thanks.

Check out Yelp too. I found my engraver through Yelp. Actually I found them because someone wrote a scathing review on another engraver and listed this one as a better place. So I looked them up!

Will things remembered do engraving on outside product?

Have you looked on their site for nearby locations. Maybe there's one not too far away

I bought a bunch of stuff at Things Remembered, and I got a $20 off coupon. So when I bought FH a watch as a gift for his wedding present, I wanted to have it engraved there. They can't engrave in a circle (the watch plate has a logo in the center). They can't engrave over it. They can't fill the engraving in with black. Excuse du jour.

So I took it to the watch place where we always get batteries changed and watch bands sized.

Oh yeah, the guy says, we can polish off the logo on the back and engrave it for $45!

So check your local watch place.

Thanks everyone. I searched for 'engraving' on yelp and google map and it seems the closest their are a few places about 45min from here (oy - I don't really have time for that).

Michelle R.,They do accept outside products, but the closest things remembered is a little over an hour away. I have to go out of town this weekend/early next week (not in that direction) and since the wedding is about 2.5 weeks away, I'm not sure I have time for that.

I'm only looking to have initials engraved and I'd like it to be straight, so the circle issue shouldn't be a problem. We just want to personalize stuff a little.

Things Remembered is the best place to go. Or any jewelry store can do engraving as well! :-)
