Where to get ready?

ginger, on October 24, 2019 at 11:20 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 8

The venue we have booked does not have a bridal suite to get ready but I really want beautiful getting ready photos. Our venue is out in the country so not exactly close to hotels. My mom wants to be around the venue in case some emergency comes up but she also wants to be there to see me get ready and I want her there. We've thought about a tent with walls at the venue to get ready in. Has anyone ever done this or do you have any more suggestions?

Could you rent an AirBnb? I can only imagine that getting ready in a tent would be less than ideal.

I think an AirBnb would be the best option unless you could do it at home. I wouldn't think that getting ready in a tent would be enjoyable, depending on the temperature and also the availability of electrical outlets.

I've looked into this and there are very limited options close by. I'd have to be 50 minutes from my venue to have something with a decent backdrop.

I thought about the outlets problem too but a drop cord would work. AirBnb is extremely limited in my area.

I understand the concern, but do you think that photos in a tent will be more flattering? A decent photographer can make even the saddest background look decent. Plus, these are only getting ready photos.

Can you just designate a corner at the venue behind a closed door or something? It might be best for you to do it at your hotel and have someone else go to the venue earlier rather than your mom.

I got ready at my Photographers studio which was awesome! Her Studio is bright, cheery and we got lots of great photos.
