Where to buy or rent Men's Suits? (ugh, yet another covid complication)

Erin, on June 8, 2020 at 11:54 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 12

Hi everyone!

Our wedding day is 8/8 so just 2 months to go! We're struggling to find any stores open (such as Men's Wearhouse, Jos. A. Bank, etc.) to get a suit for my Fiance and his groomsmen. We're thinking some sort of navy/dark blue suit. Unfortunately, a lot of stores are still closed or are not allowing in-person try-ons due to COVID.

We tried the free try-on thru Generation Tux but were unimpressed with the quality and fit and are thinking we need something more custom made or that we can at least make alterations to. We're inexperienced suit buyers (or whatever you call it, haha) so ideally somewhere with good customer service that can help us through finding the right fit at a reasonable price. Any suggestions on where to look?

A lot of the local places by us are now re-open. We were originally going to go through Men's Wearhouse, but since they refused to communicate when they would re-open and we needed our dads especially measured we canceled the order and went to a local place (where I got my dress at). They said even if we were 2 months out they could accommodate us. We picked out new tuxes and our dads can be measured here in person and then the guys out of state just have to get certain measurements to the place by beginning of August. The customer service was so much better and more personal. The best part is the tuxes we picked were $50 cheaper than what we originally picked out.

Our guys got their suits at The Groomsman Suit. They offer a try on option at home before purchasing to make sure you get the perfect size. I cannot say enough about how great the quality and overall look of the suits were. We were very impressed. They also have amazing customer service. https://www.thegroomsmansuit.com/

Our guys wore navy, so I can attest to how beautiful their navy color options are (they have 2), and will send you free color swatches.

Have you looked at Black Tux? hey are also an online option. They have the option to try before you buy. My husband's best friend is getting his tuxes through them. They have really great reviews.

Hi! We are (supposed to be) getting married in August as well, and we are also having the same issue finding men's suits! I am hoping to follow your thread for suggestions. I was considering going to the shop where I got my wedding dress (they fit for guys' suits too), and I even sort of half jokingly asked my fiance if he'd rather just order from Amazon and call it a day.

We bought ours through Macy’s! It was a $300 suit on sale for $80. They’re having crazy good sales.

My fiance is getting his (and possibly groomsmen if we have a wedding party) from Black Tux. We were fortunate enough to try it on in store awhile back so the suits have all been picked out for quite some time now. Great quality in their suits and accessories.

Have you considered Indochino? My husband and his groomsmen all got suits made through them and they seem to be good quality and craftsmanship for the price. It is purchasing only (no rental options) but the suits are made to measure and ship in just 2 weeks after the order is placed. I think prices start around $350 for a 2-piece suit, not including shirt, ties, etc. None of our groomsmen minded purchasing because they all had a need for some good suits (mostly because of their jobs) and our color was a nice not too dark, not too bright navy/dark blue so super versatile. They have stores where you can get measured but I believe you can also submit your own measurements, which would be one of your only options if stores aren't open in your area.

This is the suit my husband and his groomsmen got: https://www.indochino.com/product/hayle-sharkskin-dark-navy-suit

I just looked and Indochino has a few suits on sale (including navy/dark blue) starting around $299.
