Honestly, this app has been the biggest lifesaver for me. I had NO idea where to start, and our engagement timelines are similar. We got engaged January 2021 and are getting married this April. I really just used the checklist on wedding wire to see a rough estimate of what I should be doing when! The first thing we did was find a venue, which I also found through WW. Our venue requires a day of coordinator, so I found one of those, but she also helps with the planning process to an extent. I would suggest starting there! Make a rough guest list for both of you so you know how large a venue you would need and decide what sort of venue you want. For example, my fiancé and I both knew we wanted an outdoor wedding with a barn reception. That made it a LOT easier when looking! Welcome to the club girl!

I agree, use the app. That's what it's for. I found most of my vendors on here and the forum has been really helpful for topics. The first thing I suggest though, is set a budget you're willing to spend. Second, find your venue and set a date. Have fun!

CONGRATULATIONS!! (this picture is absolutely adorable!)
The first two things I would suggest doing are setting a clear budget and making your guest list. The size of your guest list will determine the size of the venue you will need, how many table/chairs, how much food, etc. Once your budget is set and your guest list is created, you can decide if you would rather A) tour venues and choose your wedding date based on their availability, or B) if you have a specific date/season you are set on, you can contact venues you ate interested in to see if they have those dates/seasons available
Once you have your venue chosen, everything else flows pretty easily!

Congrats!!! When y’all are ready, make these three decisions first: 1) budget, 2) estimated guest list, 3) venue (if you want a theme, include that too because it’ll help you choose a venue).

We started with a big conversation with my fiance. We determined the number of guests and the format of the celebration. The place and a lot of other things depend on it.

I would look for venue first and then everything else will fall into place. You have to have the venue in order to do anything else.
