Can you bring a laptop and display it on a TV? What about putting the photos on a DVD and playing them on a TV?

Ask your DJ, photographer or videographer. Im renting the screen and projector from our DJ.

I don't have a dj or all that . The reception is gonna be just like a party/get to gether

I second bringing in your own TV. My venue was going to charge $600 for a slide show setup (bc they had to outsource the AV or something stupid).

I thought that was literally insane so we had FBIL bring his flat screen to the venue the day of the wedding (he lived less than a mile from the reception venue). The wedding coordinator set it up and had the TV delivered back to his room during clean up. Total cost=free

(I know venues charge out of control fees for projector setup. At work for corporate events the admin assistants have to haul the corporate projector to whatever hotel we are having a meeting at because the rates are so unreasonable)

My sis is gonna marry on 7th July at Auckland, NZ. Hired the whole projector screen setup and DJ sound system from http://www.avdj.co.nz/ just for ($400). What are the hiring rates in US?
