Where can i fit my cousins into the wedding?

Georgia, on October 3, 2019 at 5:01 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 5
I have TONS of young cousins that I would love for all to be involved in the wedding somehow. On my mother's side I have twin girls that are going on 8 (by the time of the wedding they'll be going on 10). Is 10 too old to make them flower girls? I was a Junior Bridesmaid when I was 12 but felt a bit out of place in the limo while my aunt and her bridesmaids took shots of Patron around me. 10 is an awkward age where I can't decide if they'd rather be more "adult" and get to be bridesmaids with the big girls, or if they'd rather be flower girls. I also have three little girls on my dad's side but they're only 2 years old, 9 months old and 4 months old right now, so by the time of the wedding they'll be about 4, 3 and 2 which might be too young to be flower girls.

On my dad's side, I also have 4 male cousins who will be 19, 14, 13 and 11 at the time of the wedding. I want to make the 19 and 14 year olds ushers but I'm having the same problem with the 12 and 10 year old. Too old to be ring bearers? Too young to be ushers? Should I just leave them out entirely?

Recap in case I rambled too much:

19 year old male cousin- Usher

14 year old male cousin- Usher

13 year old male cousin- Usher probably?

11 year old male cousin- Usher or ring bearer?

10 year old twin female cousins- Junior bridesmaids or flower girls?

4 year old girl- Too young to be a flower girl?

3 year old girl- Too young to be a flower girl?

2 year old girl- I don't think she'll even know what's going on but it would be nice to include her in some way.

I don't think 10 is too old to be a flower girl. I also don't think 4 & 3 is too young, 2 might be pushing it, but my flower girl will be 2 soo obviously I don't care about that too much lol.

Just spit balling here.. what about if the 2 older girls be ring bearers and the 3 younger girls all be flower girls. Then have all the boys be ushers. I think that would be really great way to include all of them Smiley smile

These are great ideas!! Would the ring bearers and flower girls all dress the same? Or different?

I think different. Something a little more grown up for the 10 year olds and something super adorable for the little girls.

I don’t think you necessarily need to give them all titles. Maybe just include them in the processional and some of the photos. I saw at a catholic wedding once where they had all the nieces and nephews bring up flowers during the Ava Maria.

That's a nice idea too! I'm a big family person so I'd like for them to all have titles if possible but since we're having a Catholic wedding I'll definitely have to keep that in mind!
